She's back! This was a great meet and fun experience all around. Kaylin competed in the 2018 Salto Soleil Spooktacular at Southeastern Gymnastics on 10/27/2018. They decorated the gym with lots of spooky decorations! Since Kaylin's birthday is on Halloween, we knew this would be a fun meet for her! She was back with her team, THANK GOODNESS! Because of her age, she sometimes competes separately from her teammates. They group the girls up by age group sometimes and Kiki is a couple of years younger which puts her in a different age bracket. This time though, she was with all of her teammates and two of the level 3 girls (who she is great friends with!) It was fun getting to see the level 3 girls compete this time as their routines are a bit different.

Kaylin did amazing. Her routines were sharp and she hit everything perfectly. The only thing she had a problem with was her vault! Her first pass could have been better and her second one, she completely flopped... she landed on the springboard funny and it totally derailed her vault (poor girl!!) She placed 5th on floor, 3rd on bars and 2nd on beam! Her beam score was 8.925 which is her best yet on that event. It's funny that she feels like beam is her worst event and yet she comes out and scores her highest. She placed 3rd all around for the day and her team placed 2nd! She says these medals are her favorites because they are actually bronze and silver in color. She even got a trophy for placing 3rd all around. It was a very exciting day. Great job, Kiki!
